Cancelation Policy
I understand that unanticipated events happen in everyone’s life. In my desire to be effective and fair to all clients, I use the following policies:
24 hour advance notice is required when canceling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give 24 hours advance notice you will be charged the full cost of your appointment. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.
No-shows
Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show" and will be charged for their missed appointment.
Late Arrivals
If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, I will determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other clients, please plan accordingly and be on time.
I look forward to working with you!
There is a philosophy that frames force as unnecessary. This philosophy has charmed me these past years, as I learn a new gentleness towards process—my own and others’. So many of us grow up learning control as paramount, force as necessary for change. Force is often applied as an overriding, non-listening energy, prescribing rather than allowing. Force often privileges known, dominant routes over emergent ones. Many of us move through the world assuming we must use force in order to change, to learn, and to be good enough. For this reason, my presence as a bodywork practitioner is often most supportive when I listen and follow. This way of relating can feel new, uncomfortable. I hope to meet you in the possibility that each body contains its own trust-worthy impulses and intelligence, not in fact needing to be overridden in order to thrive. -Shaina Cantino
"In my experience of Shaina's bodywork, she begins from a place of potent kinesthetic knowledge and listening, and incorporates a caring and respect for each person's own innate physical wisdom. This translates to sessions that are transformative in a variety of different ways, always well equipped to meet me at whatever place I'm arriving at on that particular day. I would recommend her work to anyone interested in tapping into and exploring their own capacity towards vitality and self healing, as she is a master at helping unleash that quality in each of us."
-Dr. Adam Brady, PT
"Shaina brings gentleness of presence and heart to her work that is simultaneously powerful and effective."
-Alexa Williamson, LMT
"Shaina brings a very grounded presence to the table. She has wonderful hands and a clarity to her work which is strongly felt."
-Rachel Hannah, LMT
